Northern Virginia Orthodontics Center for Invisalign
Dr. Zach Casagrande, Dr. Elvi Barcoma, Dr. Danielle Robb and Dr. David Cole provide orthodontics to children and adults featuring the latest technologies---and are proud to have treated the most Invisalign patients in the DC metro area. The office incorporates digital records and a 3D scanner to allow for optimal efficiency and provide maximum time for patient care. Northern Virginia Orthodontics also offers AcceleDent, an FDA-approved appliance that shortens treatment time by almost 50%. Northern Virginia Orthodontics (NVO) and the NVO Center for Invisalign are continually recognized by Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine as one of the Top Orthodontic practices in Northern Virginia. Each patient receives a complimentary smile analysis with the doctor who then supervises treatment from start to finish.
Zachary Casagrande, DDS
“There is nothing like making a positive change in someone's life. Creating a beautiful smile gives both kids and adults enhanced self-esteem, confidence, and happiness. My team is made up of the best people in orthodontics--over 90 years of total experience! Not only are they all extremely qualified and technically proficient, but each and every one of them brings something unique to the practice, and they love doing what they do. Together, we make great smiles, healthy bites, and have fun doing it!”
A Northern Virginia native, Dr. Casagrande attended Sunrise Valley Elementary School and South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia. After graduating from James Madison University, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, magna cum laude, from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV). In addition to his dental degree, Dr. Casagrande also earned a Master of Science and a degree in Orthodontics from the Medical College of Virginia. During his time at MCV, Dr. Casagrande received grants from Pfizer for work on his master’s thesis. He remains part of the Medical College of Virginia as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics, teaching residents to become orthodontists.
Dr. Casagrande is highly trained in the latest orthodontic techniques and treatments for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients including Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, and self-ligating Damon bracket systems that can reduce treatment time and increase patient comfort. He is the only Invisalign Super Elite Provider in Loudoun County and only single-location Super Elite Provider in all of Northern Virginia. He has treated more Invisalign patients than any single-doctor practice in Northern Virginia. This distinction puts Dr. Casagrande amongst the top 1% of Invisalign providers nationwide. Invisalign has chosen him as one of their national speakers. He also has extensive experience with complex cases requiring orthognathic jaw surgery as a member of the VCU Craniofacial/Facial Reconstruction Team. Washingtonian Magazine has once again recognized Dr. Casagrande as one of the DC area’s 2011 top orthodontists as voted on by his peers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Dr. Elvi Barcoma became interested in orthodontics as a teenager after seeing the positive impact it made on her brothers self-esteem. During a summer break while in college, she asked her own orthodontist in Virginia Beach if she could work at her practice in order to learn more about the profession. In a few short months , her passion for orthodontics grew stronger than ever, and she made the leap to pursue orthodontics as a career. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and then went on to attend the School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school, Dr. Barcoma received the highest honor of being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After dental school, she completed her orthodontic residency at the Medical College of Virginia where she earned her orthodontic certificate and Master of Science in Dentistry.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE & IN THE COMMUNITY:
In her spare time, Dr. Barcoma enjoys painting, running , baking , crafting, traveling, and singing. She enjoys donating her time to many activities in the community. One of the most meaningful projects she's been a part of is the Virginia Mission of Mercy Project. It involves dental professionals and volunteers coming together to provide free dental care to underserved areas in the United States. Dr. Barcoma has also volunteered for the Miles for Smiles 5K Run, the Richmond Special Olympics and for the American Heart Association.

As an Orthodontic Assistant, I want each patient to be as comfortable as possible when they’re in our office. I have been an orthodontic assistant and lab technician since 2001. As the lab technician here at NVO, I am responsible for the fabrication of all orthodontic appliances, including retainers. I am often able to get you your appliance in a day or two, which is much faster than most offices that have to send their lab work out! I am from Puerto Rico and love to go there yearly to visit family. I have a beautiful daughter, Arianna. I think of my team members as my second family. When I’m not at work, I love snow boarding, hiking, camping, playing softball, and spending time with friends.
When I was a child I thought I would grow up to be: A teacher

I am a registered dental hygienist and I have been working in the orthodontic field for more than 20 years! I enjoy orthodontics because of the positive impact it makes in the lives of patients. The change is phenomenal! Outside the office, I love photography and traveling. I keep busy with my husband and the busy schedules of our three daughters.

Being an Orthodontic Assistant is great because I love getting to know each patient I help treat. I love to hear their stories about school, sports, and work. I started working for Dr. Casagrande in January 2009 and have enjoyed learning all aspects of orthodontic care. I currently attend ECPI where I am receiving my Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting. I have also attended school for massage therapy. My hobbies are women's and co-ed softball, fishing, camping, and kayaking. I also enjoy coaching my niece's softball team.

I work closely with our Marketing and Patient Coordinators to make your experience at NVO as seamless, and enjoyable as possible. I pride myself in working hard and exceeding your expectations. I love being creative and having fun!!
When I'm not at NVO, I am with my beloved husband and our two young children. We enjoy nature, sporting events, and spending time with our extended families. Being a parent is the best thing I've ever done! My passion is running. I completed my first Half Marathon in November 2015, and striving to complete a full marathon in 2016!
My favorite thing about my job is: getting to know our patients!
In one word, I would describe myself as: Outgoing!
Most people don't know this about me, but: I have my motorcycle license and love to ride with my husband!
As the Practice Finance Manager, my goal is to help patients understand and meet their financial responsibilities. I am also here to correspond between patients and their insurance company to maximize benefits. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, dining out, attending church, and furthering my education.
NVO strives to create a warm and fun atmosphere, and I am so proud to be a part of a team that truly cares for each other, our patients, and the community.

In one word, I would describe myself as: Caring
Most people don't know this about me, but: I love to sing
Being an orthodontics assistant is one of the most rewarding careers ever! As one of NVO's Record Technicians, I am able to track before pictures, where patients are barely smiling, to their final photos where they can't stop smiling! They are a changed person. Once the patient sees the final results of their orthodontic treatment, it is honestly one of the most joy-filled moments! They simply can’t stop smiling! I honestly just love being part of such a positive process! Who wouldn't love being able to witness that daily?
How I take my coffee: as strong as I can get it!
In one word I describe myself as: Happy!
Three things that make me smile: The genuine happiness on someone’s face when they think no one is watching, waking up and realizing I still have more time to sleep, and successfully completing a Pinterest project.
